Berry Global has two apprenticeship academies, based in Beccles, Suffolk and Oakham, Rutland, specialising in Polymer and Engineering apprenticeships and training. This role will be predominately based at Beccles in a small team, being responsible for the development and delivery of polymer processing apprenticeships. Ensuring delivery and compliance with the relevant course standards, external partners including Ofsted and the awarding bodies. Making sure that the apprentices are safeguarded, nurtured and motivated to learn in a proactive and positive environment.

• Polymer Processing qualification (minimum level 3 but preferably level 4 or above)
• Proven experience in delivering polymer processing training
• Knowledge and understanding of apprenticeships and standards
• Able to deliver positive outcomes, work to deadlines and meet the required timelines
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Demonstrates enthusiasm to develop apprentices and be a good role model
• Excellent IT literacy skills
• Willing to travel to other sites and work flexibly, a full driving licence is therefore essential
• Must undertake a DBS check
• Must be able to supply two work related references
Duties and Responsibilities
• Deliver Polymer Processing knowledge, skills and behaviours training, in line with the defined apprenticeship standards prescribed by the awarding body for Level 3
• Work with current staff on the creation and development of lesson plans, schemes of work, teaching materials and resources for delivery sessions
• Proactive in supporting students by coaching and mentoring to ensure learners are engaged and committed to completing the course.
• Creates an inclusive environment allowing for equality diversity and inclusion, being supportive to all learners including those with additional needs.
• Conduct initial assessments including RPL on learners to identify focus points for learning
• Monitor apprentice progression and achievements by carrying out regular reviews, assessments and feedback, both with the learner and their wider management team.
• Actively promotes safeguarding and wellbeing of all learners and the course delivery
• Support the apprentices with their functional skills development.
• Promote the compliance of the polymer processing and engineering programmes by participating in the Internal Quality Audit process.
• Ensure compliance of company policies and procedures, especially the Health & Safety at Work Act (HASAWA74) at all times, promoting good working practices.
• Participates in continuous professional development, staying up to date with changes from the awarding bodies/Ofsted, supporting with external auditing and quality assurance processes.
• Participates in on site and off site events including careers events at local schools and colleges (STEM activities) and Corporate Social Responsibility activities.
• Occasional travel will be needed to support the Oakham Apprentice Academy and other Berry sites.
• To act in the best interests of the Company and conduct yourself accordingly.
• Any other tasks associated to the role.
