The Quality Lead is responsible for guiding the Quality Technicians. The Quality Lead reports to the Quality Supervisor.
1. Guides Quality Technicians with completion of daily tasks.
2. Communicate with all groups in the plant, including Maintenance, Machine Technicians, Operators and
Production Supervisors in an effort to run a consistent quality product.
3. Perform or review product audits on non-conforming ware and in process production using the company or
customer defined AQL standards, quality plans and any applicable sampling strategy.
4. Collect routine product samples at scheduled intervals from each assigned machine in the manufacturing floor
and utilizes tools, gauges and other Specialized Quality Assurance Equipment to inspect product samples for
defects and assess the visual and dimensional conformance of the product in comparison to product
specification data and defined tolerances.
5. Perform the necessary Quality Assurance and SPC testing procedures on samples, accurately recording
information consistent with the department format.
7. Adhere to all Company and departmental procedures.
8. Train Quality Technicians as needed.
9. Follow all Federal, Regulatory, Safety regulations and current Good Manufacturing Practices.
10. Provide support to Quality Engineering and other departments, including Shipping/Receiving and Warehousing
in the systematic detection of potential product nonconformances in raw materials, work in process and finish
goods and assist in the identification of safety, quality and service improvement opportunities.
11. Assist in customer, vendor and third party audits.
12. Follow all departmental procedures with respect to routine daily duties and in the completion of other QA
special assignments in a team based environment.
13. Performs mold setup measurements and mold qualifications expeditiously.
14. Provides back up support to QA Technicians as needed.
15. Enforces GMP standards throughout the production work areas.
16. Performs programming of the MicroVu Coordinate Measuring Machine and makes changes to existing
programs as needed to optimize throughput.
17. Programs and maintains production qualification and in-process Infinity databases.
18. Manages the execution of production qualifications by coordinating with production planning and process
engineers ensuring studies are completed on stated timeline.
19. Executes qualification protocols and provides accurate statistical analysis to appropriate audience in a timely
manner.
20. Performs mold setup measurements and statistical analysis of data communicating accurate information to
manufacturing process technicians.
21. Provides review, approval and release of setup data for the start up of production campaigns signing DHR
appropriately.
22. Assists Quality Inspectors as needed in times of peak activity.
23. Assists in the coordination of corrective actions when a change in measurements has been experienced.
24. Follows work instructions as needed and may be asked to write, revise and train others to those instructions.
25. Actively participates in daily team production meetings – communicates key items within the plant
environment on safety, quality, maintenance, production and continuous improvement.
26. Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies.
27. May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.
-High School diploma is required.
-Capable of reading, writing and speaking English.
-Capable of physical mobility and lifting 20-30 lbs. 15-20 times per day, 3-5 days a week.
-Attention to detail/Inspection experience required with excellent communication and documentation skills.
-Capable of differentiating between colors and shades of color.
-Capable of performing measurements with indicators, calipers and ability to detect attribute defects.
-Basic understanding of SPC, AQL, sampling plans and familiar with injection and/or injection blow
molding.
-Basic computer skills preferred.
-Strong written and communication skills required.
