Overview

The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that parts are produced with the highest level of quality in
accordance with customer specifications. The Quality Technician reports to the Quality Lead.

Responsibilities

1. Promote and Ensure good documentation practices are followed in the completion of batch records and performs
final batch record review, including internal document control and verifications of records.
2. Work directly with line personnel in monitoring and maintaining safety and quality standards, and provides close
support to manufacturing areas in order to rapidly recognize quality problems that do arise, identify their causes, and
assist in the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
3. Communicate with all groups in the plant, including Maintenance, Machine Technicians, Operators and Production
Supervisors in an effort to run a consistent quality product.
4. Review raw materials for conformance to standards and requirements.
5. Perform or review product audits on non-conforming ware and in process production using the company or customer
defined AQL standards, quality plans and any applicable sampling strategy.
6. Collect routine product samples at scheduled intervals from each assigned machine in the manufacturing floor and
utilizes tools, gauges and other Specialized Quality Assurance Equipment to inspect product samples for defects and
assess the visual and dimensional conformance of the product in comparison to product specification data and defined
tolerances.
7. Perform the necessary Quality Assurance and SPC testing procedures on samples, accurately recording information
consistent with the department format.
8. Maintain workstation and QA areas in a neat and orderly manner.
9. Adhere to all Company and departmental procedures.
10. Assist in Quality Assurance training as needed.
11. Follow all Federal, Regulatory, Safety regulations and current Good Manufacturing Practices.
12. Provide support to Quality Engineering and other departments, including Shipping/Receiving and Warehousing in
the systematic detection of potential product nonconformances in raw materials, work in process and finish goods and
assist in the identification of safety, quality and service improvement opportunities.
13. Support Data entry and System verification activities for Daily Holds for Inventory, Production Scrap and QA
defect tracking database, and performs data analysis of internal product defect data and process nonconformances to
identify trends.
14. Assist in customer, vendor and third party audits.
15. Follow all departmental procedures with respect to routine daily duties and in the completion of other QA special
assignments in a team based environment.

Qualifications

1. High School diploma is required along with 1-year of service at the Franklin, IN plant.
2. Capable of reading, writing and speaking English.
3. Capable of physical mobility and lifting 20-30 lbs. 15-20 times per day, 3-5 days a week.
4. Capable of maintaining an attendance record within Company guidelines and working required overtime.
5. Attention to detail/Inspection experience preferred with excellent communication and documentation skills.
6. Capable of differentiating between colors and shades of color.
7. Capable of performing measurements with indicators, calipers and ability to detect attribute defects.
8. Basic understanding of SPC, AQL, sampling plans and familiar with injection and/or injection blow molding.
9. Basic computer skills preferred.
